Borobudur temple is one of the world wonders, located about 42 kilometers in the north of
Yogya. This largest Buddhist shrine in the world stands majestically and serene on a hilltop-overlooking lush green fields and distant hills. Built in the 8th century, made of gray andesite stone, the basic structure it consists of ten terraces each smaller than the one bellow it, rising to the Great Stupa on the top standing about forty meters above the ground.
The walls on the lower six square levels are sculptured in the life of Buddha, extending over the length of six kilometers, it is the most complete ensemble of Buddhist relief in the world. Also visit to the nearby Mendut temple and Muntilan as the center of the andesite stone carving. |

This is the one of the main attraction of Yogya, situated about seventeen kilometers of
Yogyakarta, set among the green rice fields. Prambanan is a complex of over 200 temples and shrines, the largest, the tallest one is a real masterpiece called
"Loro Jonggrang" or "Slender Virgin".
It is covered with wonderful relief depicting the Ramayana episodes, another appealing aspect is its glorious symmetry and grace, making it the most elegant and beautiful temple in Java.
This temple was damaged by earthquake on last 27 May 2006, it
is now undergoing restoration. Visitors may view from the outside only. |

Surakarta, it is the sister city of Yogya, features the two royal courts of this ancient capital.
Kraton
Kasunanan, The Royal Palace of Sunan of Solo, contains among other the museum with its collection of Hindu Javanese bronzes, Chinese porcelain,
Keris, marvelous coaches and carriages. Visit also Pasar Triwindu, Solo's flea market, a paradise for devotee of bric-a-brac, curiosities and honest junk.
On the way back to
Yogya, visit the beautiful Prambanan Temple. Tour approximately 6 hours. |

& Parangtritis Tour |

Kasongan, the village of traditional pottery, you may be excited by people's creation of unusual motive.
Then proceeds to Parangtritis the south coast of Yogya with its sand dunes.
On the way you may try a "Dokar" ride. Dokar is a traditional horse cart.

now are working hard to restore the village and the pottery industries. |

Jogja to Solo, short city sightseeing then on to Sukuh which is located on the slope of Mount Lawu at 910 meters above the sea level. Sukuh temple is unique in Java, its sculpture depicting the fertility and in one of the sculpture clearly displaying the human reproduction symbol. |
